Semester IV
Human Geography (आर्थिक भूगोल)
Note: There shall be nine questions in all. Question no. I shall be-compulsory, consisting of six short answer type questions covering the entire syllabus. Two questions will be asked from each unit. Students will have to attempt one question from each unit. All questions shall carry equal marks.
नोट: परीक्षा में कुल नौ प्रश्न होंगे। प्रश्न 1 में पूरे पाठ्यक्रम से छह लघु उत्तर वाले प्रश्न पूछे जाएंगे जो अनिवार्य होंगे। इसके अतिरिक्त प्रत्येक इकाई (Unit) से दो प्रश्न पूछे जायेंगे। छात्रों को प्रत्येक इकाई से एक प्रश्न का उत्तर देना होगा। सभी प्रश्नों के अंक समान होंगे।
Unit I (इकाई -I)
Human Geography (मानव भूगोल): Definition (परिभाषा), Nature (प्रकृति), Scope विषयक्षेत्र, Approaches (उपागम), Major Branches (प्रमुख शाखाएँ), Contemporary Relevance (समकालीन प्रासंगिकता).
Unit II (इकाई -II)
Human Races (मानव प्रजातियाँ): Classification and Distribution (वर्गीकरण और वितरण); Human adaptation to the environment (i) Cold region — Eskimo (एस्किमो) (ii) Hot region – Bushman (बुशमैन) (iii) Plateau – Gonds (गोंड) (iv) Mountains – Gujjars (गुज्जर).
Unit III (इकाई -III)
Distribution of Population (जनसंख्या का वितरण), Factor Affecting the Distribution of Population (जनसंख्या के वितरण को प्रभावित करने वाले कारक); Population Resource Regions (जनसंख्या संसाधन प्रदेश) and Growth of Population (जनसंख्या की वृद्धि); Human Migration (मानव प्रवास): Causes (कारण) and Consequences (परिणाम)
Unit IV (इकाई -IV)
Human Settlement मानव बस्ती: Origin (उत्पत्ति), Growth (विकास) and Distributional Pattern of Rural and Urban Settlements (ग्रामीण और शहरी बस्तियों का वितरण प्रतिरूप).
Functions and Characteristics of Rural & Urban Settlements and their Problems (ग्रामीण एवं शहरी बस्तियों के कार्य एवं विशेषताएँ एवं उनकी समस्याएँ).
