Economic Geography (आर्थिक भूगोल)
Note: There shall be nine questions in all. Question no. I shall be-compulsory, consisting of six short answer type questions covering the entire syllabus. Two questions will be asked from each unit. Students will have to attempt one question from each unit. All questions shall carry equal marks.
नोट: परीक्षा में कुल नौ प्रश्न होंगे। प्रश्न 1 में पूरे पाठ्यक्रम से छह लघु उत्तर वाले प्रश्न पूछे जाएंगे जो अनिवार्य होंगे। इसके अतिरिक्त प्रत्येक इकाई (Unit) से दो प्रश्न पूछे जायेंगे। छात्रों को प्रत्येक इकाई से एक प्रश्न का उत्तर देना होगा। सभी प्रश्नों के अंक समान होंगे।
Unit I (इकाई -I)
Nature of Economic Geography (आर्थिक भूगोल की प्रकृति), Scope of Economic Geography (आर्थिक भूगोल का विषयक्षेत्र), Relation of Economic Geography with other Branches of Social Sciences (आर्थिक भूगोल का अन्य सामाजिक विज्ञानों को शाखाओं से सम्बन्ध), Location and spatial Organization of Economic Activities (आर्थिक क्रियाओं की अवस्थिति एवं स्थानिक संगठन)
Unit II (इकाई -II)
Classification of Economic Activity (आर्थिक क्रियाओं का वर्गीकरण): Primary Economic Activity (प्राथमिक आर्थिक क्रियाएं)- Hunting (आखेट), Gathering (एकत्रीकरण), Lumbering (लकड़ी काटने के काम), Pastoralism (पशुचारण), Secondary Economic Activity (द्वितीयक आर्थिक क्रियाएं) and Tertiary Economic Activity (तृतीयक आर्थिक क्रियाएं); Models in Economic Geography (आर्थिक भूगोल के प्रतिमान): Von-Thunen’s Model of Agricultural Location (वॉन-थ्यूनेन का कृषि अवस्थिति मॉडल) and Edward Ullman’s Model of Spatial Interaction (एडवर्ड उल्मैन का स्थानिक अंतःक्रिया का मॉडल)
Unit III (इकाई -III)
World Natural Resources (विश्व के प्राकृतिक संसाधन): its Types, Utilization and Conservation. Spatial Distribution of Food Crops (खाद्य फसलों का स्थानिक वितरण): Rice (चावल) and Wheat (गेंहू) and Commercial Crops (वाणिज्य फसलें): Cotton (कपास) and Sugarcane (गन्ना) with Special Reference to India.
Unit IV (इकाई -IV)
Trade and Transport (व्यापार एवं परिवहन): Main Features of International Trade (अंतर्राष्ट्रीय व्यापार की मुख्य विशेषताएँ), Transport Cost (परिवहन लागत), Accessibility (अभिगम्यता) and Connectivity (संयोजकता), Major Oceanic Routes of the World (विश्व के प्रमुख महासागरीय मार्ग)
