पठारों का वर्गीकरण (Classification of Plateaus)
ये पृथ्वी पर द्वितीयक क्रम (Second Order) के उच्चावच हैं तथा पृथ्वी के एक तिहाई भाग पर अपना विस्तार रखते हैं। पठार वह उच्चभूमि है, जिसका कोई एक ढाल आस-पास के इलाकों से अधिक ऊँचा तथा खड़े ढाल वाला हो। इसका शिखर या ऊपरी भाग सपाट व चपटा होता है। पठार के निर्धारण में ऊँचाई से अधिक महत्व इसके शिखर का चपटा होना है।
