Ferdinand von Richthofen
During his survey of China, he became the first to report and map the country’s coal fields. Richthofen is credited with discovering significant coal resources in China. Richthofen’s valuable work on China was published in five volumes between 1875 and 1912. The work included a large atlas of China.

माउन्ट राऊवेनजोरी:
जायरे में अल्बर्ट झील के समीप अवस्थित है। यह “Mountains of the Moon” के नाम से भी जाना जाता है।
माउन्ट एल्ब्रुज:
यह काकेशस की सबसे ऊँजी चोटी है और यह यूरोप की सबसे ऊंची चोटी भी है। इसकी ऊंचाई 5642 मी. है। यह टर्शयरी काल की बनी चोटी है।
